That is, until, the best tech feature of all time came into my life. Do Not Disturb — DND, if you will — was introduced by Apple back in 2012. I’ve been using it sporadically for a couple of years, but for the past year it’s been on permanently. For 24 hours a day, seven days a week, my phone does not notify me of texts, social media updates, WhatsApps, distressing news pushes, marketing emails, or any of the other pop-ups that plague my tiny, beloved screen. DND basically turns my phone into a burner phone: a pay-as-you-go mobile that is often cheap, untraceable, disposable, and used to maintain anonymity.
