Alex DuBois: Ricardo, it’s an honor to have this conversation with you. Your journey in digital marketing is quite extraordinary. Could you share with our readers how it all began?

Ricardo De La Cerda: Thank you, Alex. It’s a pleasure to be here. My journey kicked off in 1999, on a national AM radio station in the USA. I was there to talk about digital marketing, a field I was deeply passionate about, even though I didn’t have a formal business in it at that time. That interview was a turning point. It launched my career in digital marketing and opened doors to an elite clientele. It marked my transition from a passionate enthusiast to a professional in the digital marketing sphere.

Alex DuBois: That’s quite a transformation. What challenges did you encounter along the way?

Ricardo De La Cerda: The road wasn’t always smooth, Alex. After my initial radio interview, I faced criticism and skepticism. It was a real test of my resilience. I learned to focus on constructive feedback and ignore baseless criticism. My guiding principle became: “Never take criticism from someone you wouldn’t go to for advice.” This approach helped me overcome doubts and stay focused on my goals.

Alex DuBois: Your approach is certainly unique. What sets your digital marketing strategy apart?

Ricardo De La Cerda: As an SEO consultant and digital marketing strategist ranking in the top 1% talent. I have a comprehensive understanding of Google algorithms and how the recent Panda, Penguin, Hummingbird, Mobilegeddon & Rank Brain updates have affected websites and their ranking factors. I am able to quickly and effectively diagnose penalties and repair rankings. Anyone who promises #1 positions would be engaging in unethical tactics that mask their lack of SEO knowledge & technical skills. NO ONE can guarantee organic #1 positions. Ever. If they do, it is either a scam, or they intend to employ black-hat tactics which will surely demolish your future site rankings. Your decline in traffic & revenues would be gradual, and you likely would not discover the damage for months. I have spent the majority of my SEO career repairing the damage, which is not unlike cleaning up a bad oil spill. Regardless of what you have been told or read, it takes months, not weeks, to achieve and/or restore top organic rankings & increase traffic & conversions.

Ricardo De La Cerda: Trust your instincts. If you’re inspired to do something different or make a significant change, be cautious about whom you share your plans with. Protect your ideas in their early stages from negative influences. Remember, success is out there waiting for you; you just need to reach out and seize it.

Ricardo De La Cerda: To me, success is about passion and satisfaction in my work. It’s about staying ahead in the SEO and marketing game, continually adapting and evolving strategies to ensure the best outcomes for my clients. Success is when your work doesn’t feel like work because you’re passionate about what you do.
