The Best Concerts of 2023: Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and More

2023 has been the year of many things—the birth of Timothée and Kylie, a new Britney Spears memoir, and that unforgettable Gwyneth Paltrow ski trial. But it’s also been the year of concerts. With A-list musicians like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift hitting the road and breaking records with their global tours—Bey with the Renaissance tour, Swift with her Eras Tour—many of us have spent the year taking in live music and paying the astronomical ticket prices to do it too. (It’s worth every penny, though—right?) Even better yet, though, are the epic stage looks we’ve gotten at all of these shows. Vogue is taking a look back at some of the year’s most fabulous performance fashion.

Topping the list, of course, are Beyoncé and Swift—two superstars who took world tours to the next level this year. Their respective tours were so good that they both earned movie deals for them—bringing their live shows to movie theaters across the globe. At the Renaissance tour, Beyoncé wore a rotating array of futuristic, avant-garde creations from virtually every fashion house in the world: Rick Owens, Balmain, Versace—you name it! No expense was spared in bringing Beyoncé’s high-fashion vision to life, and she created one of the most memorable tour wardrobes ever in the process. Swift, meanwhile, sported custom designs from labels such as Versace, Roberto Cavalli, and Oscar de la Renta on her Eras Tour, many of which were bejeweled—pun intended!—with thousands of dazzling crystals.

As for other noteworthy concert moments of 2023? Madonna’s Celebration World Tour included costumes that spanned her many eras, from the ’80s and beyond (don’t miss her mirrored Versace catsuit). Earlier in the year, at Coachella, big acts such as Blackpink and Bad Bunny hit the mainstage in serious statement looks—Blackpink in coordinated pink ensembles (their signature hue, after all), and Bad Bunny in a graphic printed puffer jacket. It simply wouldn’t be a Coachella-ready outfit if it wasn’t just a bit over the top.

Below, explore even more of the year’s best (and most stylish) concerts.
