KitchenAid Artisan Series Stand Mixer

The Ninja Max XL Air Fryer won the top spot as our favorite basket-style air fryer when we put a bunch of models head-to-head. Most air fryers reach temperature maxes of 400°F, but this model has a “max crisp” button, which actually simply turns the temperature up to 450°F. But it’s true that the setting gets you crunchier food—and faster. It also has a dehydrate function. And one small design feature makes the appliance easier to clean than its competitors: Instead of a basket, this air fryer containers a “crisper plate” that allows for maximum air circulation. It’s easier to remove and scrub than a basket.

Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker
Test kitchen editor Shilpa Uskokovic went deep on ice cream makers earlier in the year, and she thinks that Cuisinart’s freezer bowl models are the way to go for most home cooks who want to make ice cream. This model is available in two sizes, 2-quart and 1.5-quart. Shilpa has used and had great success with both. Importantly, you should keep in mind that you can use them to make frozen Margaritas as well as ice cream.
Lello 4080 Musso Lussino 1.5-Quart Ice Cream Maker
If you really want to go professional with your ice cream making, a compressor-style model is the way to go. This type of ice cream maker has a built-in refrigerating unit, so there’s no need to wait for a bowl to freeze before you make ice cream. Since it cools the cream as it churns with an actual refrigerating mechanism, the texture of this ice cream is superior, and it will keep overnight without crystallizing. But all of that comes at a price. This will need to live in the garage, or its own room, because the machine weighs 38 pounds. Each model is hand made in Italy and usually costs over $1,000. Right now it’s on sale for almost half price, so this is a seriously good deal on a seriously excellent machine, should you have the passion, space, and means.
Breville Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro
Over on Epi, we reviewed this addition to what was already a pretty saturated market in terms of countertop ovens that can air fry, toast, dehydrate, and so much more. Breville, quite simply, makes our favorite toaster ovens—or rather, combo air fryer–toaster ovens. This one has an air-frying basket for all of your French fry needs, in addition to convection cooking ability. You might end up using it more than your full-size oven (seriously).
Instant Pot Crisp Pro
These days, there’s no need to choose between an Instant Pot and an air fryer. Instant has been privy to the winds of change, and has realized that their multi-function wonder cookers have to have the ability to air fry to keep up with the times.
Instant Pot Duo 6-Quart Multi-Cooker, Red Stainless Steel
This is the most classic Instant Pot model and the best one for beginners—in a spunky red color that isn’t so classic but might be right for someone on your holiday shopping list. (Funky aunt, maybe?) This thing is a pressure cooker and a slow cooker, and it generally does everything you want an Instant Pot to do.
Vitamix Blenders
Some of the best Vitamix blenders are on sale right now, including the 5200 used by BA’s test kitchen and entry-level models like the E310 Explorian Blender.
