With a comprehensive approach, BAADER transforms raw resources into finished food products through reliable technology and enduring quality. By embracing automation, digitalization and a people-first mindset, BAADER is redefining food processing for a better future.
With generations of expertise, BAADER creates sustainable solutions that add long-term value, developing products that serve people today, tomorrow and beyond. Their strong dedication to innovation drives continuous evolution to meet the demands of an ever-changing global food landscape.
While BAADER is best known for its work in the poultry and fish industries, its solutions extend into a wide range of food sectors. For example, BAADER Refiners recover valuable product, conserve resources and support packaging recycling—all while maximizing profitability. The BAADERING process, recognized worldwide as a gentle method for refining products, emphasizes resource efficiency, superior food quality and process reliability.
Introduced in 1969 with the first BAADER refiner for meat and fish, BAADERING has since expanded to handle diverse applications, including fruits, vegetables, dairy and packaged goods. The process uses a specialized squeezing belt and perforated drum to gently separate soft and solid components, preserving the natural integrity and quality of the material. Thanks to its versatility, BAADERING can process a broad range of fresh raw materials with minimal stress and maximum yield.
Stephen Willoughby, General Food Manager at BAADER, brings eight years of industry experience across multiple food categories, including red meat, poultry, fish, dairy, fruits and vegetables.
“At the core of our process is a dedication to preserving the natural essence and texture of organic materials,” says Willoughby.
As all food begins with raw resources, BAADER recognizes the importance of protecting the planet’s limited supply. Sustainability is central to BAADER’s mission, with solutions designed to reduce waste and conserve resources. Through efficient, eco-friendly machinery, BAADER helps create a more sustainable global food supply, ensuring every step in the process adds value.
A prime example of this commitment is BAADER’s industry-leading Zero Waste initiative, which identifies hidden waste streams and reintroduces them into the value chain through advanced processing. In food production, discarded packaged goods are often inevitable. With the BAADERING process, these mislabeled or mispacked products can be safely de-packaged, recovered and repurposed instead of being thrown away.
BAADER offers six different types of refiners, customized to match each customer’s throughput and application needs.
“As more states implement laws to prevent organic waste from going to landfills, our refiners offer an effective solution,” says Willoughby. “Not only can plastics be recycled, but organics are recovered and transformed into rework material, animal feed, or even biogas, depending on the application.”
Beyond its environmental benefits, the BAADERING process delivers significant operational and economic advantages, such as higher product yield, improved food safety through Critical Control Points (CCPs) and lower disposal costs.
