Avelo Launches New Routes In Atlanta, Charlotte, and Miami

Low-cost airline Avelo is launching new routes to the Southeast and in Florida in June.

Starting on June 14, Avelo will launch a route from Southern Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport to Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and also Charlotte’s Concord-Padgett Regional Airport.

The Connecticut to Atlanta route will operate four times a week (Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday) and the Connecticut  to Charlotte route will operate twice weekly on Thursday and Sunday, and increase to four times a week on June 14.

As a way to kickoff the new services from Connecticut, Avelo is offering introductory one-way fares at $85.

As an example of how Avelo chooses flight routes and maintains low-cost fares, Avelo chose to open in Concord-Padgett Regional Airport outside of Charlotte, NC versus the main Charlotte Douglas International Airport which is 24 miles away.

Earlier in June, Avelo will begin a new Orlando to Miami service. The weekend service, beginning on June 7, will operate on Fridays and Sundays through August 18, and provide a quick route for travelers looking to access either side of the Sunshine State. This may be especially helpful for families or theme park enthusiasts who visit Orlando, home to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Florida, and also Miami. The route will operate on a Boeing 737 aircraft and fares start at $46 one-way.

Avelo recently celebrated its third anniversary of business, and revealed that in the initial years the airline has provided service for over 4.6 million passengers, and anticipates 17 new routes coming soon.

“I am proud of what we have accomplished, but even more excited about what is next for Avelo. With more airplanes and destinations on the way, we will continue to fulfill our purpose for millions of new and returning Customers,” Avelo’s Chairman and CEO Andrew Levy said in a Linkedin post.
