Skims and Swarovski Kicked off the Festive Season with a Very Sparkly Celebration

Glitter and glamour are two words to describe the star-studded party that took over midtown last night. In honor of the just-launched Skims x Swarovski collection, which was feted at Swarovski’s new 5th Avenue and 54th Street boutique (other pop-ups are slated for Dubai, Milan, London, Paris, Berlin, New York, Hong Kong and São Paulo), a sparkling fete unfolded.

In true Swarovski fashion, the space was doused in silver and sparkles creating an opulent experience for the guests. Upon entering the event, partygoers walked through a maze of mirrors before being greeted with trays of champagne, lychee martinis, and lemon drops.

Once inside, guests admired the latest collaboration on display as the crystal-embellished garments caught the light and created a disco-like effect in the room. There was no shortage of photo opportunities for everyone to show off their Skims x Swarovski getups as every surface, from the furniture to the drinks trays, seemed to be reflective. There were even crystal-lined silver busts embedded in some of the mirrors—the ultimate symbol of a Skims x Swarovski brainchild. As drinks began flowing and partygoers chatted, Gwyneth Paltrow seemed to effortlessly float into the room with Emma Roberts following not long behind her. Suddenly, the party was in full effect as Cynthia Erivo and Teyana Taylor chatted on the silver couches while Ashley Graham’s infectious smile could be seen from across the room.

And at 8:44 pm sharp, the guest of honor arrived. In a flurry of flashing lights and camera equipment, Kim Kardashian entered. Decked out in head-to-toe crystals—the media and fashion mogul seemed to walk perfectly on beat the to DJ as she smiled and glided through the crowd to her VIP silver couch. “This is a dream collaboration for me and a natural pairing as I’ve always loved Swarovski and have had the crystals and figurines my whole life; even my laptop is fully covered in Swarovski crystals,” Kim told Vogue. “Swarovski has an unmatched legacy, and they are the experts in crystals and shine, so when we wanted to explore merging jewelry with Skims innovative fabrics they were the perfect partner. To see Skims classic pieces drenched in Swarovski crystals makes me so happy and excited.”

A true match made in heaven – the partnership of Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert, the Creative director of Swarovski, and Kim Kardashian undeniably resulted in something very special. And if the start of the night wasn’t enough to sell you on the collaboration, I’m pretty sure Kim’s glamorous entrance left everyone in the room adamant that they need to get their hands on Skims x Swarovski for their next holiday party.
