Miracles Unwrapped: A Community Unites for Kids in Need

Bringing Joy and Magic to Families Through Miracles for Kids’

Annual Holiday Basket of Miracles Event

IRVINE, California – (December 21, 2023): On December 9, 2023 the non-profit Miracles for Kids successfully hosted its annual Holiday Basket of Miracles at a ‘Santa’s Workshop’ in Irvine, California, bringing together hundreds of festive ‘elves’ for a day filled with warmth, giving, and holiday spirit.

The sound of holiday music was in the air as volunteers gathered to wrap and assemble thousands of donated gifts for the families that Miracles for Kids serves. Wrapping paper, ribbons, and holiday cheer filled the room in Irvine, California as volunteers came together at the Miracles for Kids Santa’s Workshop. The community assembled and wrapped 3,000+ gifts with over 10,000 feet of gift-wrapping paper and personally hand-delivered 95 baskets filled with household essentials and presents. 300+ volunteers worked diligently to make this event a great success with 400+ families and 1,600+ individuals receiving gifts!

The culmination of the communities’ efforts resulted in the shipment and personal delivery of beautifully wrapped and decorated boxes as well as bags for families facing the challenges of caring for critically-ill children. GX Wine Group, the event’s shipping sponsor or ‘reindeers’ personally hand-delivered 95 baskets to families, spreading joy and holiday magic. Another 21 deliveries were made by people in the LA area, and 17 that were gifts only. For a total of 133 personal deliveries bringing holiday cheer to those in need.

“It’s so wonderful to see how the community really shows up each year for the families we serve. We partnered with 5 Orange County Gelson’s stores to hold a toy drive for the 4th year and then to see 160+ volunteers come out to our wrapping day to wrap the gifts is really what the holiday spirit is all about,” states Autumn Strier, co-founder and CEO of Miracles for Kids.

Miracles for Kids extends heartfelt gratitude to the event’s generous donors and partners, including Stir Foods, West Coast Prime Meats, Ingardia Bros.
