Natural Light Just Dropped the Ultimate Dad Gift, and It Comes With a Dartboard

  • Natural Light launched The ToolBar for Father’s Day — a foldable, garage-friendly workbench that doubles as a man cave with features like a dartboard and can holders.
  • Richard Karn (Al Borland from Home Improvement) partnered with the brand to promote the ToolBar, starring in a retro-style infomercial.
  • Fans can win a pre-built ToolBar by entering on Natural Light’s social media by June 15, or download free DIY instructions to build one themselves.

Father’s Day is right around the corner, and if you haven’t gotten your pops something special, that’s OK, because Natural Light has you covered.

On Tuesday, the beer brand announced that it’s helping dads reclaim their garages as both their workshop and man cave in one with the ToolBar.

“As the value-minded beer brand that honors both the hustle and the hangout, Natural Light thinks dads deserve to have it all,” Natty Light shared in a statement provided to Food & Wine. “So, alongside Natty’s Craft Ambassador, ‘90s sitcom star and real-life dad Richard Karn, the American-style light lager is introducing the ToolBar for Father’s Day — a dual-purpose workbench that’s there for work and play.”

Yes, Richard Karn, whom you may know as Al Borland from “Home Improvement,” is helping dads bust out the tools once again.

As for what the ToolBar is all about, the beer brand said it’s a “garage-friendly station that seamlessly transforms from workspace to a post-task man cave simply by folding it up.” It includes Murphy bed technology applied to a workbench, ensuring the ToolBar doesn’t take up too much space and can be “raised or lowered to function for work time or Natty time.”

When it's in unfold mode, the ToolBar is the perfect work station, with a pegboard capable of holding all your tools and a flat work surface for whatever you're working on next. And in folded mode, it's a “post-work celebration station,” featuring a built-in dartboard and can holders, so you can invite your buddies over for a beer.

“This Father's Day, we wanted to give handy dads a space-saving setup where they can knock out a project or kick back a cold one with a friend,” Krystyn Stowe, the head of marketing at Busch Family & Natural Family at Anheuser-Busch, shared. “Richard Karn's no-nonsense know-how and legendary love for tools and tinkering made him the perfect partner for this build. Whether he's DIYing or cracking a Natty, Richard brings the kind of energy our fans love: approachable, capable, and serious about having a good time.”

And, in true '90s fashion, the ToolBar is debuting with its own cheeky infomercial starring Karn, too.

“I’ve spent a good chunk of my life in garages — fixing stuff, building stuff, occasionally losing my favorite wrench for a few days,” Karn added. “And let me tell you, you can have a huge garage and still end up working in a two-foot square next to the weed whacker. But I draw the line at sacrificing my man cave. The Natty ToolBar lets me stash away my workspace and gives me room to crack open a cold one like a civilized human being. It’s form, function, and fun — all in one.”

The only downside is that if you want to score one already made, you’re going to have to win it. You can enter by following Natural Light on Instagram, Facebook, or X and commenting on the entry post by June 15. However, there is one more way to obtain it: build it yourself. The beer brand has made the ToolBar DIY Instruction Manual free on its website at NaturalLight.com/Toolbar. And building one may just be the best way to bond with your dad this summer.
