Making Reading Fun: WonderWorks Branson Celebrating National Library Week with Free Ticket Promotion

BRANSON, Missouri – (March 21, 2024) – It is important to support your local libraries throughout the year, but National Library Week, running this year from April 7-13, 2024, provides a dedicated time to celebrate reading, libraries, books, and more. To show their support, WonderWorks Branson is partnering with several local libraries to give away free admission tickets to their family-friendly attraction. Those who sign up for a first-time library card at a participating library branch will receive one free general admission ticket to the upside-down house while supplies last. This is a great way to get community members and families into their local libraries to see what they have to offer, while also giving them a unique opportunity to explore all the educational exhibits inside WonderWorks.

“There’s never been a better time to sign up for a library card!” says Brenda Dent, general manager at WonderWorks Branson. “Reading and STEAM go hand in hand, so we’re excited to partner with our local libraries for the second year in a row to offer this great deal.” 

Upon signing up for a new, first-time card, the library will provide the holder with their free admission ticket. To redeem the ticket at WonderWorks, guests will need to present both their ticket and library card at the admissions counter. One free general admission ticket per first-time card will be provided while supplies last during the week of April 7-13, 2024, at participating local libraries. To further celebrate the week, WonderWorks will be hosting a book drive. They will be collecting new or gently used books in their lobby that will be donated to local libraries and organizations.

“As a part of National Library Week, we’d also like to give back to our local libraries and other charitable organizations, so we’ll be collecting books to donate,” added Caleb Miller, education sales manager at WonderWorks Branson. “Help us spread the wonders of reading throughout the community.” 

After dropping off their donation, readers of all ages should check out the Dr. Seuss art exhibit inside WonderWorks. This section of the Wonder Art Gallery brings several of the beloved author’s fictional characters to life through imaginative taxidermy sculptures. This exciting exhibit showcases Dr. Seuss’s multidimensional creativity and is included with regular admission to WonderWorks Branson.

National Library Week celebrates the country’s libraries and library workers to encourage and support library usage. The first National Library Week took place in 1958 and is held each April. It’s estimated that there are nearly 124,000 libraries in the U.S.

Like many libraries, part of WonderWorks Branson’s mission is to inspire the next generation of leaders, scientists, and creatives. To that end, it offers three floors of educational exhibits and attractions focusing on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) principles. 

The exhibits provide a fun and exciting way to learn about each topic. Some of the concepts that guests can explore include:

·         Science – Test the principles of pressure on the Bed of Nails and feel hurricane-force winds in the Hurricane Shack.

·         Technology – Climb into a replica of the Mercury Capsule and interact with an augmented reality sandbox.

·         Engineering – Use pulleys to lift yourself up and align gears until they spin together.

·         Arts – Stroll through the Wonder Art Gallery to look at mind-bending illusion art and play a song on the Giant Piano.

·         Mathematics –Calculate the landing of a space shuttle and complete a math problem at the Marine Biologist display.

WonderWorks Branson offers over 100 interactive exhibits and activities that are STEAM-based. The exhibits have been designed to give guests a way to learn more about each topic in a fun and memorable way.
