This Fashion Designer Couple Made Their Own Looks for Their Effortlessly Cool Wedding in San Jose del Cabo

Sid Neigum, designer of the eponymous label Sid Neigum, and Chloe Gordon, designer of Beaufille, met in 2010 through their mutual friend, stylist Dwayne Kennedy. They dated for over a decade before Sid proposed on the balcony of their Toronto condo in July 2022. “Thankfully, she said yes,” Sid says, laughing.

After quickly settling on the location of Los Cabos, where Sid’s family has a home, the two got to work planning their wedding in collaboration with Cabo Beach Weddings. They quickly found that doing so was much like launching a collection—“booking photographers, flights, hotels, sourcing things, and creating our pieces to wear,” Sid says.

Indeed, designing their own outfits was very important to the couple. On Friday, the two threw a welcome boat party with an all-white dress code. Chloe wore a blouse from Sid’s spring 2024 collection and pleated trousers she made herself. Sid, meanwhile, opted for a vintage linen Cavalli blazer passed down from Chloe’s father, along with Levi’s 502s and a pair of Saint Laurent patent leather creepers. Cocktails were served on deck at golden hour, and come nightfall, the boat turned into a full-on dance party.

On Saturday, they wed at Acre Resort in San Jose del Cabo. Chloe walked down the aisle in a floor-length strapless gown made in silk faille with lace detailing. “I wanted the dress to feel and be effortless, but have some subtle details that made it feel special and occasional,” she says. “I used a combination of silk and lace, two of my favorite fabrics to work with.” She also included a nod to Beaufille’s best-selling Baes dress by making a delicate bralette the focal point. “A hint of lace was exposed around the neckline and hem, and the layering of the two fabrics created a subtle texture due to the lightweight quality of the silk, allowing the lace pattern to peek through on the surface of the dress,” Chloe explains. She paired it with a long-sleeved cape, Prada heels, and Beaufille collarbone-length gold drop earrings designed by her sister Parris.

Sid waited for the bride under a jungled expanse of palm trees in an oversized single-breasted suit jacket of his own design. “I wanted something breathable for the hot weather but also structured enough for the peaked lapels and shape,” he says. Underneath, he wore an Issey Miyake origami collar button-up that mimicked a bowtie. He accented it all with a pair of Margiela Tabi loafers.
