Dakota Johnson Brings Brooklyn to Milan In Her Latest Look

Is it possible to combine logomania and quiet luxury? Dakota Johnson is making a compelling case that there can be unity between these two diametrically opposed aesthetics.

The Madame Web actor has officially ditched her cobwebs for a ’fit that’s more in line with her laid-back style. She was spotted in Italy with a friend wearing a cropped black T-shirt, black trousers, a baby blue cashmere cardigan, and sage green Adidas Sambas.

But what really stuck out from the actor’s look were her pants, which—in the right light—you can see is printed with the Gucci monogram. A longtime Gucci Girl, Johnson was the campaign star for former creative director Alessandro Michele’s inaugural fragrance, Gucci Bloom, and has previously been his guest at the Met Gala. Johnson, who had met with Michele in Rome shortly before these photos were taken, seemed to be paying her respects to the designer with her outfit choice.

The trousers’ subtle logo felt especially cheeky when paired with her New York Mets baseball cap. But just in case passersby weren’t positive if Johnson was indeed wearing Gucci, she made sure to let them know with her patent leather purse, embellished with the interlocking G monogram, and fashioned in Ancora red—Sabato De Sarno’s signature color.

The high-low look was the perfect meld of Italian glamour and low-key American style. And nobody nails that sartorial better than Dakota Johnson.
