The rest of us may pull up to the TSA line in our sweats, but for those who are constantly being followed by fans and paparazzi, an elevated airport look is almost always a given. Case in point? Jessica Simpson.
The singer and entrepreneur was seen at LAX yesterday sporting a rather bold getup. We’re especially intrigued by her choice of plane shoes and her carry-on bag. The former are certainly not your everyday travel sneakers. Simpson strutted up to the security desk in a pair of towering platform boots, which feature hiker-style lacing and a hefty lug sole. Her fellow high-fashion-at-the-airport enthusiast Rihanna also loves wearing heels to catch a flight; It’s a power move that more or less declares, “I‘m being whisked through security and flying first class (or private.)” Simpson’s carry-on, meanwhile, was an oversized Balenciaga bag that can fit a laptop, a change of clothes, and perhaps the entire Jessica Simpson shoe collection. It’s huge—perfect for those who love to overpack. Completing her look was a sleek black overcoat and the most important celeb travel essential of all: enormous sunglasses. Inconspicuous? No. Perfectly on par with the rest of her look? Absolutely.
