Recent research indicates that microplastics are hiding in many of the kitchen tools we use daily. These tricky textiles are “made from synthetic fibers derived from plastic, like polyester and polyamide,” which shed microplastic particles every time they’re used or washed, according to Megan Meyer, PhD.
