Wendy’s Drops a New Kids’ Meal Toy Collection With DC Comics

Are you a comic book fanatic? Love a Batman flick? Can't get enough of Wonder Woman's powers? Apparently, neither can Wendy's.

On Thursday, Wendy's announced that it's teaming up with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products to celebrate the DC Universe with a collection of limited-edition Kids' Meal toys. According to Wendy's, the toys will feature both “Super Heroes and Super-Villains” and will come in six collectible sets with 18 total mini figurines to collect.

However, Wendy's wants to make it clear that while these toys will be inside the Kid's Meal, adults are totally welcome to enjoy them too.

“Don’t worry — this collaboration isn’t just for kids,” Wendy's noted in a release shared with Food & Wine. “Beginning April 14, with the purchase of a premium combo meal on the app or website, fans can receive a Free Wendy’s Kids’ Meal with the digital offer.” And that means a free toy too.

As for how you can get the toys, customers simply need to order a Kids’ Meal at Wendy’s between now and early June, either in-restaurant, through the Wendy’s app, or on Wendys.com. Additionally, they will receive the complete Kids' Meal, which features a choice of four-piece chicken nuggets, a hamburger or cheeseburger with Jr. Hot & Crispy Fries or Apple Bites, and a kid's drink.

However, Wendy's isn't the only brand that is getting into trendy toys. McDonald's also dropped its Minecraft Movie Meal on April 1, which includes a Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets with medium fries and a drink, plus a limited-edition collectible toy. There are six collectibles to snag, including a Big Mac Crystal, Birdie Wings, Fry Helmet, Grimace Egg, Soda Potion, and Zombie Hamburglar, all created to look like Minecraft characters. The meal also comes with “a matching card and a code that fans can redeem to unlock the corresponding, exclusive skin in the Minecraft Marketplace,” according to the company. And as Food & Wine previously reported, the McNuggets also come with the brand's all-new spicy Nether Flame Sauce inspired by The Nether, Minecraft’s fiery, magma-filled underworld. So maybe go grab a Wendy's meal tonight and a McDonald's meal tomorrow and start collecting them all.
