Walmart’s Summer Cookout Meal Feeds 8 for Under $50

As Walmart tells Food & Wine via email, this means that for “under $6 per person, you can serve up a full feast for eight.”

If you’re planning to grill with friends and family this weekend, the convenience and affordability of this deal from the largest grocery store chain in the country is about to make your life a whole lot easier.

What is Walmart’s summer cookout meal?

This bundle is a pre-made shopping list on Walmart’s website that allows you to instantly add everything you need for a simple cookout to your cart. Without any customizations, this grocery list will total $44.77 and feed eight people (or possibly more).

For the stars of the show, the bundle includes eight Oscar Meyer hot dog links and a 12-count bag of Walmart’s Great Value frozen hamburger patties. You’ll also get a pack of eight soft and fluffy hamburger buns and eight hot dogs buns. Although this does mean you’ll have some hamburger patties leftover, you can certainly double up the meat on some burgers or store extras in the freezer for a later date.

If you’re a fan of chili dogs, then you’re in luck, because this meal comes with a can of hot dog chili sauce. There are also slices of Monterey Jack cheese, which you can add to burgers and melt on top of those decadent chili dogs.

Of course, there’s also Lay’s potato chips and Bush's baked beans on the menu, and for beverages this list incorporates two 1.25-liter bottles of Mountain Dew, and one 1.25-liter bottle of Pepsi.

Although it would require a few extra steps to customize your digital shopping list, you could swap these out for other drink options if desired.
