There may still be some pumpkins languishing on doorsteps, but in the world of nail art, Thanksgiving is old news–Christmastime is here. Proving we are indeed proactive when it comes to planning our festive season manis, Google last week reported a 250 percent spike in searches for “Christmas nail art designs” in a single day.
A simple way to ease yourself into the festive season, no reindeer knit required, there are myriad options when it comes to designs. To go all out and enjoy the spirit of the season, adorn your nails with tiny trails of tinsel or delicate snowflakes. For a base shade we like warm shades–think gingerbread and spice. If you’re not sure you want to commit to full kitsch, limiting the design to one nail or just the tips is a good way of incorporating a little festive cheer. Candy canes, Santa hats and mistletoe garlands are all good places to start.
