Trump Media asks Nasdaq to cooperate with any investigation into ‘naked short selling’

Trump Media & Technology (NASDAQ:DJT) CEO Devin Nunes has called on Nasdaq to cooperate with any congressional or other investigations related to potential “illegal naked short selling.”

Nunes has requested Congress to encourage the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) to issue electronic blue sheet requests for April 29 to May 3, as well as other dates in May and June. Electronic blue sheet data contains trading and account holder information that regulators use to analyze trading activity.

In a letter to Nasdaq, Nunes said there are “acute anomalies” in the stock trading of Trump Media (DJT), the company that owns Donald Trump’s social media platform Truth Social.

Nunes cited recent data that showed failure to deliver instances for DJT remain “shockingly high,” which is why the stock is on the Nasdaq Reg SHO Threshold List. The list details securities whose transactions failed to clear at a registered clearing agency.

“DJT stock is held by more than 620,000 shareholders, the vast majority of whom are everyday retail investors,” said Nunes. “A thorough inquiry into the anomalies would help protect these shareholders from any market manipulations and defend them against possible illegal practices by Wall Street insiders.”
