This Low-cost Airline Is Making It Easier to Fly to Greece This Summer — and Prices Start at Just $269

Low-cost airline Norse Atlantic Airways will make it easier to fly to Greece from the West Coast thanks to a brand-new flight launching next summer.

Starting June 3, the Norway-based airline will fly from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Athens twice each week, Norse Atlantic shared with Travel + Leisure. The new flight will be operated on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft with tickets starting at just $269.

“There’s currently a gap in the routes leaving LAX serving Athens and we’re excited to plug that with this new route,” Bjørn Tore Larsen, the CEO and founder of Norse Atlantic Airways, said in a statement shared with T+L. “We expect the uptake to be positive as we offer this budget-friendly route for LAX, opening up more transatlantic options for our customers and the opportunity to explore the ancient city of Athens. Our goal is to make travel accessible and affordable for everyone and this is another step in that mission and in our commitment to offer [new] destinations to the US market.”

The new route will join several others Norse Atlantic already operates from Los Angeles, including flights to Paris, London, and Rome, which the carrier plans to launch for the first time in May.

Beyond Los Angeles, the airline also services several other cities in the United States, including Miami, New York, Orlando, and Las Vegas. It flies to major cities across Europe including Oslo, London, Berlin, and more. Norse Atlantic also operates flights from Europe to both Cape Town in South Africa and Bangkok in Thailand.

Norse Atlantic was first founded in 2021 and now operates a fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The carrier offers travelers a choice between two cabins: economy and premium, which features a 43-inch seat pitch. Each of the airline’s economy tickets now also include both a personal item and a 22-pound carry-on bag.
