This Budget Airline Just Added 13 New Routes Including the Bahamas—and Fares Start at $39
- Avelo Airlines is a low-cost carrier that has been rapidly expanding its route network
- To take advantage of the introductory fares, flights must be taken between June 13 and August 25, 2025 and booked by March 17.
- The routes include three new destinations: Nassau, Bahamas, Grand Rapids, and Long Island.
Avelo Airlines, a low-cost airline, announced 13 new routes and three new destinations for its network, including Nassau, Bahamas, Grand Rapids, and Long Island. This comes on the heels of their recent announcement of two new routes from Charlotte to Nashville and Daytona Beach beginning in April.
The airline is offering one-way fares for flights between Wilmington International Airport (ILM) and Dulles (IAD), starting at $39. Travel needs to be taken between June 13 and August 25, 2025 and booked by March 17. There are additional fees for carry-on, checked bags, and other optional services, like assigned seats.
“We continue to Inspire Travel by growing our network at our newest bases,” said Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levy in a release. “We’re adding three new destinations, including our fourth international location – Nassau, Bahamas. These 13 new routes offer our Customers even more choices, making it easier and more affordable than ever for our Customers to get where they want to go.”
With the additions, the Avelo network now includes 56 cities in 23 states, and Puerto Rico, with four international destinations, including Bahamas, Jamaica, Mexico, and Dominican Republic.
New routes from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), where Avelo has 10 nonstop routes, include:
- Nassau, Bahamas: Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS), beginning June 11 (Wednesdays and Saturdays).
- Grand Rapids: Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR), beginning May 23 (Mondays and Fridays).
- Philadelphia: Delaware Valley’s Wilmington Airport (ILG), beginning May 22 (Thursdays and Sundays).
New routes from Florida’s Lakeland International Airport (LAL), where Avelo has nine nonstop destinations, include:
- Grand Rapids: Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR), beginning June 13 (Mondays and Fridays).
- Long Island, New York: Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP), beginning June 12 (Thursdays and Sundays).
New routes from North Carolina’s Wilmington International Airport (ILM), where they have 15 nonstop destinations, include:
- Houston, Texas: William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), beginning June 11 (Wednesdays and Saturdays)
- Washington, D.C.: Dulles (IAD), beginning June 13 (Mondays and Fridays)
- Detroit: Detroit Metro Airport (DTW), beginning June 12 (Thursdays and Sundays)
- Long Island, New York: Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP), beginning June 12 (Thursdays and Sundays)
New routes from Charlotte’s Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA), where they serve 11 nonstop destinations, include:
- Detroit: Detroit Metro Airport (DTW), beginning June 13, 2025 (Mondays and Fridays)
- Washington, D.C.: Dulles (IAD), beginning May 23 (Mondays and Fridays)
- Long Island, New York: Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP), beginning May 22 (Thursdays and Sundays)
And a new route from Philadelphia’s Wilmington Airport (ILG), where Avelo has 14 nonstop is:
- Jacksonville: Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), beginning May 23 (Mondays and Fridays)
