This All-inclusive Yacht Is One of the Largest Catamarans in the World — and It Sails Through These Iconic Remote Islands

Launched by Via Natura, an Ecuadorian family-owned cruise operator, the vessel will be an ultra-luxurious way to see the wonders of the Galápagos. According to the company, Hermes is the largest catamaran touring the Galapagos Islands and the largest commercial catamaran in the world.

The vessel will have just 12 suites that can carry up to 20 passengers. Each suite features a balcony and a whirlpool tub, which is located next to a panoramic window, so you can take in the views from the bath. Ten of them will be 250-square-foot double suites that can accommodate up to three guests for traveling families, while two 200-square-foot suites are dedicated solo accommodations. That means solo travelers won’t have to pay a single supplement when traveling in these suites. Servicing all the suites are two butlers who can handle all of the guests’ requests, from unpacking suitcases to spa bookings to laundry service. 

In terms of public space, Hermes will have 10 social areas, ranging from an aperitif lounge to a hammam to a sun deck with a hot tub. And, of course, there will be a restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu was designed by Andres Robles Montenegro, an Ecuadorian chef with a Relais & Châteaux pedigree. Expect mixology lessons and cooking classes to round out the culinary program.

As for activities, two naturalist guides will lead groups of 10 each on hiking trips, snorkeling sessions, and kayaking excursions across the Galápagos, educating all on the diverse wildlife that thrives here, from the iconic blue-footed booby to marine iguanas.
