These Dansko Clogs Are My Mom’s Go-to Travel Shoes

My mom has been a jetsetter since she was a child, resulting in more than 40 years of travel experience. She’s picked up some genius tricks along the way, like how to pack a carry-on to fit two weeks’ worth of clothes and how to make a hotel room more cozy. But it wasn’t until she started traveling for work that she realized she had the wrong walking shoes — that is, until her colleagues recommended a pair of Dansko XP 2.0 clogs. While traveling for work, my mom would find herself walking and standing on cement floors for 12 or more hours a day. She relied on a pair of comfy sneakers to support her feet, but still experienced shin splints, pain on the bottom of her feet, and body aches the next day. From her first wear, she didn’t have to break them in, and experienced an immediate change in how her body felt. She said it was like she was “slipping [her feet] into a cloud.”
