New year, new you, right? Or, at the very least, it’s time to upgrade your tired kitchen items. Personally, I poured through my kitchen cabinets just last week to see what could be replaced. I found sheet pans with permanently stuck on food, a slow cooker with a cracked porcelain insert, and a few chef’s knives that were well beyond sharpening. 

That’s when I hopped on Amazon’s New Release storefront and found hundreds of kitchen items poised and ready to take the place of the ones I’m clearing out. I even found offerings from top brands like Cuisinart, Le Creuset, and Lodge to replace my worn-out kitchen tools. My 10 best picks include a single-serve coffee maker, a stainless steel tumbler, and a Nakiri knife with a blade guard that's only $15. Surely some of the items below would upgrade a few of your worn-out finds, too.

Ninja Pod & Grounds Specialty Single-Serve Coffee Maker

For times when you don’t need a full pot of coffee, Ninja’s single-serve coffee maker comes to your rescue. This device uses both pods and grounds, allowing you to select your favorite coffee for a customized brew. Choose from four brew settings: classic, rich, over-ice, or specialty. And if that’s not enough, the Ninja's fold-away milk frother is the cherry (or the cream) on top. This unit is sleek and compact so it takes up very little counter space, and it accommodates a tall 8-inch travel mug, too.

Hamilton Beach 6-Quart Set & Forget Programmable Slow Cooker 

Even with the best intentions, I sometimes forget to meal plan the night before. So when I wake up in the morning, I need to prepare a throw-and-go meal before heading out the door to work. That’s where this Hamilton Beach slow cooker would come in handy. I could simply open the refrigerator, take out some chicken, and toss in a jar of my favorite tikka masala sauce. With this slow cooker, I can cook for a crowd, too, as it will hold enough food for seven servings! The flexible programming allows for warm, low, or high settings and for a time range of 30 minutes to 24 hours. The intuitive easy-touch controls are easy to use and simple to wipe clean, and the Set & Forget function automatically switches to “warm” once your meal is done. 

Cuisinart 7-Inch Stainless Steel Nakiri Knife and Blade Guard

My flat-blade nakiri knife gets a workout in the kitchen, but it needs a bit of an upgrade. I’m going to replace it with this new Cuisinart version. This flat-blade knife can cut the most delicate foods (like mushrooms) with precision. Because it makes it easy to cut straight up and down, it’ll give me better control than a curved-blade knife. Its high-quality stainless-steel blade is also razor-sharp and can chop and dice like a professional restaurant knife. I also love the included blade guard so I can toss it in a drawer without fear of dinging the blade. 

S'well Recycled Stainless Steel XL Tumbler with Straw 

While I think the giant Stanley mugs are cool and all, this version from S’well suits my preferences more. The brand’s stylish products are design-forward and made from recycled materials, displacing millions of plastic water bottles. This particular XL tumbler features a stainless steel lid and straw and its triple-layered patented construction keeps drinks cold for 50 hours and hot for 10. Plus, it’s dishwasher-safe.

When it comes to cookware, I never skimp. That’s why I’m choosing this Tava pan, which checks all of my boxes. Hand-mashing potatoes takes it out of you, especially when it’s one of many dishes on the menu. That’s why I plan on replacing my potato masher with this nifty ricer, which effortlessly mashes with the squeeze of the handles. Made of durable stainless steel with an ergonomic handle, this ricer can mash a variety of veggies, like cauliflower, broccoli, parsnips, cooked apples, and avocados. It comes with three discs with various-sized pierced openings and is dishwasher-safe for easy cleanup. 

Lenox 4-Piece Tuscany Classics Iridescent Wine Glass Set
