Paul Mescal is currently in full-on movie star mode. Over the past month, the the actor has been busy making his red carpet rounds to promote Gladiator II—one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, releasing on November 22 (the same day as Wicked!). During his press tour, Mescal has already brought forward many impressive suits on the step and repeat, thanks to the assist of his stylist Felicity Kay—a master of cultivating discrete, impeccable tailoring. Tonight, for the London premiere, Mescal and Kay delivered one of his best red carpet fashion moments yet.

Putting a modern twist on the classic black suit, Mescal looked to a single-breasted Gucci tuxedo that was punctuated with the label’s white necktie shirt. Left untied, the look had a disheveled and effortless vibe—though, don’t go mistaking that for unpolished. His sleek dress shoes and tasteful Cartier jewelry, including the Petit Santos wristwatch from 1963, kept it all feeling elevated.
