Parts of Antarctica are turning green faster than expected, with researchers warning that climate change could lead to a devastating influx of invasive species.

“The scale of the greening trend we found shocked us,” says Tom Roland at the University of Exeter, UK. “The rate of change we’re seeing in terms of increasing vegetation cover is astounding and, worryingly, accelerating.”
