Overnight closures set for Highway 67/167 (Interstate 57) in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. — The Arkansas Department of Transportation announced Friday that highway 67/167 (Interstate 57) in Jacksonville will close for bridge and lane work.

According to officials, they will fully close the highway and frontage road between Vandenberg Boulevard and North James Street starting Sunday night, July 13, through Wednesday morning, July 16.

Crews will temporarily stop traffic in 15-minute intervals between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night, to perform bridge work on all southbound lanes of Highway 67/167 and John Harden Drive, officials said.

ARDOT also announced that both northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 67/167 (Interstate 57) will be reduced to one lane overnight from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Friday night, July 11, through Friday morning, July 18.

Traffic will be directed with police assistance, signs, message boards, barricades, and construction barrels, ARDOT said.

The construction is part of a $145.2 million project under ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program that includes widening 2.5 miles of Highway 67 to six lanes and reworking multiple interchanges and frontage roads in Jacksonville, officials said.
