Oscar Mayer Recalls 367,812 Pounds of Turkey Bacon Nationwide

It's time to check your fridge again for a very important recall. 

On Wednesday, the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a recall notice for nearly 368,000 pounds of Oscar Mayer turkey bacon products after it was discovered they might be contaminated with Listeria. According to the notice, the problem was identified after the company's lab testing indicated potential contamination. 

Notably, the notice stated that there have been no confirmed reports of “adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.”

The turkey bacon was produced from April 24, 2025, through June 11, 2025. The recall includes the following three products: 

• 12-ounce vacuum-packed packages of “Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Original,” which bears the Universal Product Code (UPC) “071871548601” printed on the packaging below the barcode. It has a use-by date ranging from July 18, 2025, to August 2, 2025. 
• 36-ounce packages containing three 12-ounce vacuum-packed packages of “Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Original.” It is accompanied by the UPC “071871548748,” which is printed on the packaging below the barcode. It also has a use-by date ranging from July 23, 2025, to September 4, 2025.  
• 48-ounce packages containing four 12-ounce vacuum-packed packages of “Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Original” with the UPC “071871548793” printed on the packaging below the barcode. Its use-by date ranges from July 18, 2025, to September 4, 2025. 

The products, the FSIS noted, were shipped to retail locations across the United States, as well as exported to the British Virgin Islands and Hong Kong.

To date, no adverse reactions have been reported. However, the FSIS noted that consumption of food contaminated with Listeria can cause serious infections, especially in people with weakened immune systems or pregnant individuals.

“Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions, sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms,” the FSIS shared. “In pregnant women, the infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery or life-threatening infection of the newborn.”

It also noted that those in higher-risk categories who experience flu-like symptoms within two months after eating contaminated food “should seek medical care and tell the health care provider about eating the contaminated food.”

The FSIS remains concerned that the product is still in people's refrigerators and freezers. If you have purchased the product, it is advised to discard it immediately or return it to your place of purchase for a refund.
