On the Podcast: Andrew Scott on Paul Mescal and Impractical Shoes

Andrew Scott captured our hearts and minds (and possibly caused a spike in searches for religious pornography) when he played the role of the “hot priest” in Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag. Now, he is charming the Run-Through team with an appearance on the podcast. He stopped by the studio and spoke with Chloe and Vogue deputy editor Taylor Antrim while on his press tour for his latest film, All of Us Strangers, and everyone was swooning. Scott arrived in a sleek collared cardigan and white suede loafers and shared his secret for selecting clothes: “I always know if it’s tiny, it’ll fit.”

The new film is a poignant reflection on family, grief, and memory, anchored by a romance between two neighbors, played by Scott and fellow heartthrob Paul Mescal. Scott spoke to Chloe and Taylor about what it was like to act in such an emotionally profound project, and how much of himself he brought to every scene. As a queer person (though he will speak at length about why he dislikes the term “openly gay”), he also reflects on how this movie explores the mixed reactions that often result from coming-out conversations with family.
