Jenni Kayne’s Cozy Sweater Kept Me Warm in the Swiss Alps

It doesn’t matter whether I’m under harsh plane air conditioning or strolling through a mountain town, I run cold. Despite my Midwestern upbringing — where subzero temps are the norm — I still pile myself with warm layers to stay comfy.

With this knowledge, I packed (a lot) for my recent trip to Switzerland. Much to my family’s amusement, I arrived at the airport with a large checked suitcase, a rolling carry-on, and a duffel bag in an effort to fit my warmest sweaters, coats, and jackets. However, there was just one piece that I wore on repeat for the entire trip: the Jenni Kayne Cashmere Amelia Crewneck sweater.

In retrospect, I could’ve saved myself so much luggage space. The sweater was so comfy that I favored it over every other top in my suitcase and could skip additional layers thanks to its warmth. It comes in four neutral color options, including the classic ivory shade that I own, and it has the ideal (and versatile) oversized fit. I wore it casually tucked into jeans, over leggings and yoga pants, and layered with a skirt and high boots.

The crewneck design is 100 percent cashmere knit, which looks and feels luxurious. It’s made with a chainette yarn, which gives it a chunkier and more lightweight feel than thicker cashmere sweaters I’ve owned. While it kept my body feeling comfortable in the Alps, where the temperature consistently rested below 30 degrees, I didn’t feel like I was overheating with a jacket layered over top.

Shoppers also praised its “soft and plush” design and said it’s the “perfect weight [and] drape.” One customer added that they “got compliments the first time” that they wore it, while another called it “simply the best sweater” that’s “very easy to wear.” A third person said “everyone needs it.”
