Intel resolves R2 litigation (NASDAQ:INTC)
Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) has agreed to resolve all legal disputes with R2 Semiconductor, a technology group based in Palo Alto, California, with which it has engaged in a patent battle for nearly two years.
R2 has agreed to dismiss all litigation between the firms and against certain Intel (INTC) customers, including Dell (DELL), HPE (HP), and Amazon’s (AMZN) cloud service provider, Amazon Web Services (AWS).
“The parties are pleased to have resolved the dispute on mutually agreed-upon terms,” the Santa Clara, California-headquartered chipmaker announced in a press release late Friday. The company didn’t disclose the terms of the settlement.
The duo’s legal dispute dates back to November 2022 when R2 filed patent infringement lawsuits against Intel (INTC) and some of its customers in the U.K. and Germany.
The litigation was related to Intel’s (INTC) Ice Lake, Tiger Lake, and Alder Lake processors, its 10th, 11th, and 12th generation processors, respectively, its Ice Lake Server (Xeon) processors, and the customer servers and laptops containing those processors.
