Tips for the Instant Pot Steel-Cut Oats
- I like to saute the steel-cut oats with a small knob of butter for a couple of minutes to add a nutty flavor before adding the other ingredients.
- If your oats look watery after cooking. That’s perfectly ok! Give the mixture a good stir, and the excess liquid will incorporate into the oats.
- Feel free to use just water if you’re not into the creamy stuff 😉 Replace 1 cup of milk with one more cup of water.
- Topping suggestions: almonds, fresh or frozen berries, banana slices, chia seeds, raisins, maple syrup, honey, etc…
- The ingredient ratio works best in a 6-quart Instant Pot (or a smaller one). If you’re using a larger Instant Pot, you can scale up the recipe to prevent any annoying burning and sticking to the bottom.
