Honda American car sales increase 1.1% in June, EV sales down 9.6% (HMC)
- Honda (NYSE:HMC) sales in the U.S. for all brands rose 1.1% to 112,742 in June as a 3.3% decline in car sales was offset by a 3.4% gain in the sale of Honda trucks. Total YTD vehicle sales were up by 9.3% to 690,281.
- By brand, total Acura sales were down 21.4% in June with car sales down 42.5% and truck sales lower by 9.9% compared to June 2023 with sales impacted by production line consolidation.
- The company sold 23,981 electrified vehicles in June (including hybrids, EVs, and fuel cells), down 9.6% from the same month last year.
- Honda car sales were up 2.1% in June while truck sales increased 5.2% resulting in a 4.1% increase in total Honda vehicle sales in June.
- The Honda CR-V remains the company’s top-selling model, averaging over 32,700 per month in 2024. 52% of the CR-V sales were for a hybrid-electric.
- The company sold 830 units of the all-electric Prologue SUV in June for a year-to-date total of 1,535.
