Gucci and Miley Cyrus Hosted a Flower-Filled Summer Party at the Chateau Marmont

To celebrate the heady days of high summer, Gucci creative director Sabato De Sarno and Miley Cyrus hosted a poolside party at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood last night. The luxury Italian brand took over the hotel’s iconic pool for the occasion, festooning the surrounds with a riot of florals as a nod to the house’s new Flora Gorgeous Orchid perfume.

DJ Alex Chapman was on hand to kick off the event, while guests including Kendall Jenner, Salma Hayek Pinault, Dree Hemingway, Finneas, Law Roach, Maude Apatow, and Rumer Willis were greeted with coupes of Champagne as they arrived through a floral tunnel. As waiters passed through the party with a mix of floral-inspired hors d’oeuvres and desserts, the crowd lined up to take pictures with friends against the lushly landscaped backdrops.

As the sun set, Cyrus—the face of the fragrance, and the star of a new campaign shot in the Hollywood Hills—took to the stage to perform a rendition of her hit “Flowers,” which also served as the soundtrack for the campaign. The delighted crowd chanted along and whooped as she put a cheeky twist on the song’s lyrics (“Started to cry, but then remembered… I’m the face of Gucci,” she sang) before ending the show with a liberal spritzing of the perfume.

Before the evening drew to a close, attendees including Gia Coppola, Samara Weaving, Jennifer Meyer, and Reign Judge were presented with a bottle of the heady ozonic floral fragrance—all but guaranteeing its status as the scent of the season.
