Fan-Favorite Ice Cream Sandwiches Return to Costco
Given that grocery store freezer aisles are packed with countless ice cream brands, it takes a special product to stand out and fly off of shelves in one weekend, but Nightingale Ice Cream Sandwiches managed to do just that.
Last year, this handcrafted ice cream sandwich brand’s Cookie Monster flavor was an immediate hit with customers and sold out at Costco stores within just one week. The trendy flavor featured vanilla ice cream infused with cookie crumbs, pressed between two chocolate chip cookies.
Now, the cult-favorite ice cream sandwiches from Nightingale have made their long-awaited return to Costco freezers — just in time for summer — and they’re now available in a refreshing Strawberry Shortcake flavor. Fans can look forward to a creamy strawberry ice cream filling nestled between two brown sugar cookies, making for a seasonal treat that’s perfect for hot afternoons.
The new strawberry sandwiches deliver the same depth of flavor and ingredient quality that Nightingale is known and praised for. Unlike the larger, individually wrapped Nightingale ice cream sandwiches you may have spotted at other stores, these miniature, or “chomp-sized,” sandwiches are available in 18-packs that are exclusively sold at Costco.
The brand confirmed in an Instagram update that the new release will only be sold at Costco locations in the Northeast — including over 132 locations from Virginia to Maine — for now. However, Nightingale encourages fans to advocate for more ice cream across the country in the same post, saying, “What state are you in? Tag Costco to let them know you NEED these delicious ice cream sandwiches at your location.”
Why is everyone rushing to Costco to grab these treats before they’re gone? Nightingale's ice cream sandwiches are made with 14% butterfat ice cream, freshly baked chewy cookies, and quality mix-ins like freshly picked berries. One content creator who reviewed the brand’s new strawberry sandwiches on TikTok claims she’s surprised by how delicious the cookie part of the dessert is, rating it a “10 out of 10.”
According to some online reviews, each box is priced at $19.99 in select Costco stores that carry them, but exact prices may vary depending on the store location. With 18 sandwiches in each box, that translates to about $1.11 per dessert, making this another great bulk deal from Costco. (At many other retailers, you’ll only find Nightingale chomps available in boxes of four sandwiches each, typically priced in the range of $7—$9 per box.)
Although the 18-packs of Strawberry Shortcake sandwiches are only available at Costco, you might find four-packs of these treats at other retailers.
The Nightingale website showcases a wide variety of fun flavors it offers, such as Miso Churro, Banana Pudding, Key Lime Pie, and Chocolate French Toast, and the site can assist you in locating the nearest retailer that sells Nightingale products.
A fruit-forward ice cream sandwich is the treat we need this summer, but knowing the former frenzy around these desserts, make sure to head to your nearest Costco ASAP to secure your own box (or two, just to be safe).
