The pan-European Stoxx 600 (STOXX) held steady at +0.04% on Thursday, as investors awaited the European Central Bank policy meeting, where the central bank is expected to stand pat on rates. Markets will also closely watch comments by officials that may offer clues on the next rate cut. Meanwhile, the oil and gas sector tracked higher crude prices.
Coming up in the session: U.S. initial jobless claims expected later in the day.
In the bond market, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield was up 3 basis points to 4.18%.
Germany’s 10-year yield was up less than 1 basis point at 2.43%.
U.K.’s 10-year yield was down less than 1 basis point to 4.07%.
