Emirates Is Making Flying out of the U.S. More Luxurious — Here’s How

Dubai-based airline Emirates is expanding its premium economy service in the United States by bringing an upgraded cabin to six new routes.

Travelers flying Emirates will soon be able to enjoy the elevated premium economy cabin when flying on routes out of Chicago, Boston, Dallas, Seattle, Newark, and Miami, the airline shared with Travel + Leisure. The expanded access is thanks to retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft, which the airline will introduce on a rolling basis starting in November.

Once that rollout is complete by February 2025, Emirates said it will offer premium economy from ten of its 12 gateways in the United States. 

“With the success and popularity of Premium Economy on routes like New York JFK, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Houston served by our refurbished A380, we look forward to bringing a new level of comfort and privacy to more cities with refreshed cabins on our Boeing 777s,” Adnan Kazim, the deputy president and chief commercial officer at Emirates, said in a statement. “The introduction of our refreshed product and ensuring consistent experiences in the sky on more routes is part of our long-standing commitment to the US and adding more premium options in a span of just a few months ensures we offer a competitive, value for money proposition for our customers.”

This is when Emirates will introduce its retrofitted Boeing 777:

• From Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD): 3x/week to and from Dubai starting Nov. 1; increasing to daily Nov. 22
• From Boston Logan International Airport (BOS): 3x/week to and from Dubai starting Dec. 10; increasing to daily Dec. 18.
• From Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW): 3x/week to and from Dubai starting Jan. 9, 2025; increasing to daily Jan. 15.
• From Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA): On flights to and from Dubai starting Jan. 24, 2025.
• From Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR): Daily on flights to and from Athens starting Feb. 10, 2025.
• From Miami International Airport (MIA): 4x/week on flights between Dubai and Bogotá with a stop in Miami starting Feb. 19, 202; increasing to daily March 1.

Emirates’ premium economy seats feature 19.5-inch-wide cream leather seats, up to a 40-inch pitch, a six‑way adjustable headrest, an eight-inch recline, and an adjustable calf rest along with a 13.3-inch HD television and the same wood-paneled style used in Emirates’ business class cabin. The airline first announced the cabin in 2021 and introduced it in the U.S. last year.
