Elizée Karlie Sandal Mid-Heels Review With Photos
I generally loathe heels, but on the rare occasion that an outfit demands them, I’ll acquiesce. You won’t catch me at a wedding without a backup pair of comfortable flats, though. When I got the chance to test out a pair of heels from Elizée, an Italian brand that prides itself on luxuriously hand-crafted shoes with a focus on comfort technology, I was immediately on board. I chose the Elizée Karlie Sandals ($600), a delicately strappy, mid-heel option in a beautiful caramel color, and hoped for the best.

What I Like About The Elizée Karlie Sandals
I was admittedly afraid that the shorter heel and caged style might look a bit matronly, but when I slipped them on for the first time, I was struck by how sexy they looked. The caramel color flatters my tanned summer feet, the caged, glossy leather straps offer just a hint of adornment, and the pointed, rounded toes somehow help to elongate my legs. Forget dusting these off for wedding season, I was suddenly envisioning outfits I wanted to buy for an excuse to wear these more often.
Aesthetics aside, there really is a leap of difference between your standard department store heel and a handcrafted, luxury version. It might seem obvious, but it’s hard to describe the difference until you actually walk in them. These shoes are made with a triple-layer insole, so I can feel the pressure point support, shock absorbency, and stability, despite the skinny heel. I’m less conscious of having a teetering, slower gait, and don’t notice the balls of my feet screaming after a few hours of wearing these, which is a huge win.

What’s Worth Noting About The Elizée Karlie Sandals
At $600, these shoes are the most expensive pair I own by a long shot. If this is also more than what you typically spend on shoes, you might want to consider selecting a style that can fill the biggest gap or need in your wardrobe. For me, that was a neutral-colored, heeled sandal I could wear to formal events where I’m standing or dancing for hours. Choosing a classic, mid-heel option also lends more versatility than a bolder style with a higher heel. Sure, these look stunning with dresses and skirts, but they also look incredibly chic with trouser shorts, cropped pants, and even my go-to Everlane barrel jeans.

These sandals are best for people who are usually averse to wearing heels. If you’re looking for an elegant, versatile, and comfortable pair of heeled sandals you can wear with all sorts of outfits and to any occasion, from a work lunch to a Bar Mitzvah, this is your pair.
