Clear Adds 7 More Airports to TSA PreCheck Enrollment Program — What to Know

Enrolling for TSA PreCheck is now more convenient than ever, as biometric service Clear has added several new enrollment locations at airports across the country.

The company, which is authorized by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as an enrollment provider of TSA PreCheck, now offers 40 locations nationwide in which passengers can enroll in the trusted traveler program. Passengers can now enroll or renew their memberships at seven more airports, including:

  • Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)
  • Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE)
  • John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH)
  • Kansas City International Airport (MCI)
  • Palm Beach International Airport (PBI)
  • Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU)
  • Tulsa International Airport (TUL)

The full list of available airports can be found here, along with hours of operation for enrollment. No appointment is required to apply for TSA PreCheck through Clear, which greatly speeds up the process for travelers who previously faced long waits to complete their application. However, they will need to bring their passport or another approved form of identification to complete the enrollment process with a Clear representative.

“TSA PreCheck with enrollment by Clear provides a fast and efficient airport experience,” said Clear’s CEO, Caryn Seidman-Becker, in a statement. “This is a win-win for U.S. travelers who will have access to more enrollment locations, expanded hours, and other benefits.”

Upon enrollment, travelers can either apply for TSA PreCheck for a one-time fee of $77.95 or bundle the trusted traveler program with a Clear Plus membership for $199.95. After the first year, travelers will be charged $189 per year for a Clear membership, which allows them to use dedicated airport security lanes to identify themselves with biometric fingerprints or eye scans.

Once identified, TSA PreCheck travelers can leave their shoes, belts, and light jackets on and leave their laptops and liquids in their bags while going through airport security. Having both TSA PreCheck and Clear Plus can help passengers beat the long security lines, especially at busy airports.
