Chris Cuomo reveals he voted for his brother in presidential election
Journalist Chris Cuomo told Bill Maher that he voted for his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), for president, writing in his name on the ballot.
“I got some heat for who I voted for for president,” Chris Cuomo said in a Friday clip of Maher’s show “Real Time” highlighted by Mediate.
When Chris revealed it was his brother, Andrew, who resigned from the governorship due to sexual assault allegations, Maher was shocked.
“And then I spelled his name wrong so I don’t think it counts, but the choices to me were unacceptable for this country,” Cuomo explained.
“Really? You couldn’t vote for Kamala Harris?” Maher asked.
Cuomo reaffirmed his choice, claiming the Democrats were an “embarrassment” this election cycle.
“I could have done a lot of things, but my feeling is we deserve better than this,” Cuomo said. “The process that the Democrats put us through was an embarrassment to Democrats.”
Democrats have been quick to point fingers about who is to blame for Vice President Harris’s election loss to President-elect Trump and for Republicans’ Senate and House majority wins.
Many party leaders have blamed the shift on Democrats’ messaging that did not resonate with voters’ stance on immigration and the economy as outlined in exit polls.
