Over the course of the last several months, Aspen became the place to see and be seen. The likes of Kendall Jenner, Bella and Gigi Hadid, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Rihanna, and even Mariah Carey have all recently found themselves in the Colorado ski town. And while there’s lots to lure travelers, one thing’s for certain, Snow Lodge has something to do with the town’s undeniable buzz.
It all started in the winter of 2019/2020 when the Montauk institution of Surf Lodge ventured westward to Aspen.
“It’s hard to believe, but it’s been five years in Aspen developing the Snow Lodge’s Après Ski and hospitality to humbly fit in with legendary venues like Belly Up, Cloud 9, and the rest of the venues in this wonderful playground,” says Surf Lodge founder Jayma Cardodo. I feel like we are finally part of the Aspen community, a destination travelers look forward to unbuckling their ski boots.”
Over Easter weekend, Snow Lodge brought South African DJ and record producer Black Coffee to man the DJ booth at Snow Lodge, which is located in the courtyard of the St. Regis Aspen Resort. His set kicked off around 6 pm before guests, including Vogue Mexico’s Karla Martínez de Salas, enjoyed a dinner and more musical sets in the Snow Lodges’ après-ski-themed Jade Room.
The show in the snow (the St Regis Aspen is located at the foot of Ajax Mountain) was the last of the season, but it’s only a few more months before the Lodge crew will be back at it again in Montauk.
“Summer is almost here—I like surprises, so we’ll share more as we get closer to the season,” says Cardodo.
Of those musical acts she can tell us about, Cardoso lists Bob Moses, Blondish, the Martinez Brothers, Elderbrook, Chris Lake, Ben Bohmer, Carlita, LP Giobbi, Guy Gerber, and Bedouin.
“I love country music (Willie Nelson’s performance is still one of my favorite shows!), so expect a little more Cowboy this summer,” she says. And with that, music lovers will wait with bated breath for the full lineup.
