Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) plans to invest €10 billion in Germany as demand for cloud and logistic infrastructure continues to increase, the e-commerce giant said on Wednesday.
As part of its investment, Amazon’s computing unit Amazon Web Service (AWS) also plans to make an €8.8 billion investment by 2026, to continue to build, maintain, and operate its cloud infrastructure for the AWS Europe (Frankfurt) Region, the company said.
The announcement brings the total amount of Amazon’s planned investments in Germany to €17.8 billion.
Andy Jassy-led Amazon, which has been strengthening its cloud infrastructure in Europe, added that it will create 4,000 jobs at three new fulfillment centers.
AWS was also considering parking billions of dollars in data centers in Italy, according to a Reuters report in May.
