A-List Celebrities Share Their Go-To McDonald’s Breakfast Orders

The 97th Academy Awards aired Sunday night, and critics all seem to agree that many of this year’s categories were stacked with strong contenders, any of whose nominees would have made a worthy winner. McDonald’s, a consensus in the fast food scene, is hoping we see its breakfast menu exactly the same way. That’s why, this morning after the Oscars ceremony, it’s sharing what each celebrity orders for breakfast at McDonald’s — the “one meal Hollywood relies on.” 

For its latest commercial, McDonald’s reached out to various Hollywood celebrities, including some of this year’s Oscar nominees, about their favorite thing to order for breakfast at McDonald’s. Unsurprisingly, the answers are as varied as the performances of this year’s Academy Award winners. 

The 30-second ad features several stars — from Teyana Taylor and Edgar Ramirez to Michael B. Jordan and Jackie Chan — and their favorite McDonald’s breakfast items. Receipts list even more celebrity orders, plus a few Easter eggs for fans of the brand and the celebrities.

In recent years, McDonald’s most famous fans have become a key part of its marketing strategy, starting with the Travis Scott Meal in 2020 and continuing with the BTS Meal, the Cardi B & Offset Meal, the Angel Reese Special, and more. Maybe one day, we’ll see an official Kieran Culkin meal roll out nationwide. (It would certainly be affordable.)

Colman Domingo

Colman Domingo was resoundingly praised this year for his role in the prison drama Sing Sing. We must also praise him for his multifaceted breakfast order: The Egg McMuffin Meal (which comes with hash browns and a coffee) paired with strawberry jelly and ketchup, plus bottled water. Also on the side is a Strawberry Banana Smoothie — a strong menu player often left out of the conversation, much like Sing Sing for most of this year’s awards season.

Julia Fox

Asked to detail her McDonald’s breakfast order, actress and model Julia Fox has an appropriately avant-garde response: Hot Cakes with 10 (ten) syrup packets, a hot chocolate with extra whipped cream, and three warm chocolate chip cookies. Even those of us with the biggest sweet tooth might struggle to polish off these ultra-sugary selections without something savory to balance them out.

Teyana Taylor

Singer and actress Teyana Taylor’s McDonald’s breakfast of choice must be given due credit for its level of detail: A large Orange Juice with Hot Cakes, Sausage, Eggs, and a McChicken Biscuit with Cheese (which seems to come and go from the breakfast menu) with jelly, extra butter, and extra syrup on the side. 

Kieran Culkin

Most of the characters Kieran Culkin has played on both the big and small screen are some combination of dry, mischievous, and acidic. No wonder, then, that his answer to the question “What’s your go-to McDonald’s breakfast order?” would be so trolling: one small Coke, nothing more.
