Our List of 9 Favorite Products We Tried in June

June is almost over. Let that sink in for a moment. That means beach trips, baseball games, backyard grilling, and finding snacks and sips to keep cool in the heat. Here at Food & Wine, we’ve been spending a lot of time shopping for great kitchen deals in advance of Amazon Prime Day, but otherwise, our writers and editors have been testing out some supremely delightful new items. A powerful tote bag, delicious hazelnut chocolate bites, a restaurateur’s beautiful memoir, a non-toxic dish scrubber, and more lie ahead, from $8.

Created Cove Mug Set

Created

“I don't know why drinks taste better when sipped from a glass mug, but they do. I adore the design and weight of these Created Co. cups, using them daily for hot and cold drinks alike. The set also comes in a striking amber color and a few different sizes.” — Liv Dansky, writer

Yeti Daytrip 14L Insulated Tote Bag

Amazon

“I grill at least once a week, and always struggle to balance the food, grilling tools, and other items I’m taking outside. This tote is a perfect transportation system not only for grilling, but also for any activity where you want to comfortably carry a small amount of cold snacks, drinks, and other goodies. I can put a Yeti ice pack inside this tote and fill it with the food I’m planning to grill, and still have room for a couple of beers. The front pouch perfectly holds my grill brush, tongs, and digital thermometer, and the top uses a magnetic clasp to close, so it’s easy to open.” — Adam Rothbarth, writer

“I Regret Almost Everything” by Keith McNally

Amazon

“I kicked off my summer reading list with New York restaurateur Keith McNally’s terrific new memoir. It has everything: adventurous tales of world travel, musings on art and theater, and, of course, accounts of how he built Balthazar, Pastis, and other legendary restaurants (as well as a few that, by his account, weren’t so legendary). It’s contemplative, wistful, and funny — the perfect combo — and I could not put it down.” — Adam Rothbarth

Dandelion Single Origin Chocolate Hazelnut Spread

Dandelion Chocolate

“I really like Dandelion Chocolate for always emphasizing the origin of its chocolate. This spread combines Ecuadorian cocoa beans with hazelnuts sourced from Oregon, resulting in a balanced and lightly sweet flavor. I've mixed it into breakfast yogurt bowls and melted it for topping ice cream; unashamedly, I've also eaten it directly from the jar on many occasions.” — Dillon Evans, update writer

Skoy Scrubber

Amazon

“This dish scrubber is made from leftover cotton fibers and non-toxic resin, and it's the perfect balance of heavy-duty and non-scratching. I've been using one on my carbon steel pans for more than a year without the pan or the scrubber deteriorating at all. When it gets covered in gunk, it's even dishwasher-safe!” — Jason Horn, senior writer

West Elm Essential Stacking Drinking Glass Collection

West Elm

“I am such a huge fan of vintage-looking glassware, but finding an affordable set that has survived for 50 or 60 years is tough. I love these glasses because they have that retro vibe, but they're thicker than most vintage glasses, so I know I won't accidentally break them. I instantly fell in love with the moody olive green color; I bought the tall 14-ounce set, but I love them so much I'm eyeing the smaller 10-ounce set as well to complete my collection.” — Nick DeSimone, update writer

Simple Houseware 4-Piece Clear Storage Organizer

Amazon

“I wish I could show before-and-after photos of my pantry. I measured my pantry closet and grabbed a couple of sets of these bins this month, and my pantry has never been more consistently organized. I love that the bins feel durable, and they're wide enough to hold basic pantry items like boxed broths, canned foods, and bagged grains.” — Dillon Evans

Ecozoi Stainless Steel Popsicle Molds

Amazon

“I've had a few different kinds of popsicle molds in the past, and these are the best in my opinion. For people concerned with microplastics or silicone molds that start to smell, these are for you. The popsicles pop right out after running them under the faucet. They're easy to clean, and if you need space, you can store the popsicle molds without the frame in the freezer.” — Doan Nguyen, digital photo editor

Hu Kitchen Hazelnut Dark Chocolate Bites

Amazon

“I'm a huge dark chocolate fan, and these dark chocolate bites from Hu are my new favorite. I tried the hazelnut and the cashew butter, and while both were delicious, the hazelnut is my favorite. The truffle-like filling isn't too sweet (a complaint I have about a lot of filled chocolates), and the toasty, nutty flavor of the hazelnuts really comes through. You can't go wrong with either, because they both have a super-rich, dark chocolate shell. It's got that snap I'm always looking for in a good dark chocolate, and the flavor is fruity with just a touch of pleasant bitterness.” — Nick DeSimone
