Trump warns Iran of ‘even more brutal attacks’ without nuclear deal
Israel has “struck at the heart” of Iran’s nuclear programme, targeting its facilities and top scientists in a series of strikes, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said.
In an address on Israeli television early on Friday, Netanyahu said the strikes had hit Iran’s main nuclear fuel enrichment facility in Natanz as well as leading nuclear scientists and ballistic missile weapons programme.
The “targeted military operation” was intended to “roll back the Iranian threat”, Netanyahu said, adding that Iran had produced enough highly enriched uranium for nine nuclear weapons and had taken unprecedented recent steps to weaponise that material into a bomb.
He accused the Islamic republic’s leaders of having “brazenly, openly called for Israel’s destruction”, and said the operation would continue “for as many days as it takes to remove this threat”.
