Huckabee Sanders says she does not plan on joining Trump administration
Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R) announced she would not be joining President-elect Trump for a second term in the White House on Tuesday.
“I’ve already announced my bid for reelection & I look forward to serving in this position for the next six years,” Huckabee Sanders said while answering questions after a scheduled speech in Arkansas.
Before taking the helm of the Natural State, she served as the 31st White House press secretary under Trump for two years.
Huckabee Sanders was a staunch supporter of the Trump-Vance campaign throughout the presidential election cycle as was her father, Mike Huckabee, who was named as the U.S. ambassador to Israel on Tuesday. He also previously served as Arkansas’s governor from 1996 to 2007.
On Tuesday, Huckabee Sanders shared that her father will be the only “family member” to serve in the Trump administration.
“So unfortunately & hopefully you guys are stuck with me for awhile & the only member of my family that will be going into the administration is my dad,” Huckabee Sanders wrote.
