Full STEAM Ahead! WonderWorks Myrtle Beach Celebrates National STEM Day with Fun Educational Activities

MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina – (October 29, 2024) – National STEM Day is recognized annually across the United States on November 8. It's a day dedicated to spotlighting STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and recognizing its importance in young students' education. WonderWorks Myrtle Beach will celebrate this special event by having a day filled with interactive science experiments and demonstrations for all guests, giving science lovers of all ages a fun way to learn about intriguing science topics.

“It's time for another National STEM Day at WonderWorks! This is our favorite day of the year, because we're all about spreading a love of STEM throughout the community. Don't miss out!” said Robert Stinnett, general manager at WonderWorks Myrtle Beach.

On Friday, November 8, 2024, families can dive deeply into STEM topics at WonderWorks and see them in action, up-close. Throughout the facility, there will be interactive demonstrations and experiments that focus on a variety of STEM topics, including pressure, insulation, origami and more. In conjunction with the latest edition of the “I Think, Therefore I STEM” exhibit – focused highlighting a variety of STEM careers students can strive to obtain one day – a new marine-biology-themed experiment will also demonstrate how ocean currents work. Additionally, guests can explore the 100+ interactive exhibits that focus on subjects such as weather, light, sound, space and more.

Those fascinated by the English language will want to stop by the Word Up exhibit on STEM Day, as WonderWorks will unveil an updated version of the exhibit in partnership with Merriam-Webster Dictionary. The update will showcase several new words recently added to the dictionary, a new interactive word scramble, and details on how words are formed and officially added to the book.

“The team and I always have such an amazing time running science experiments on STEM Day!” said Kaitlin Barnes, education sales manager at WonderWorks Myrtle Beach. “It's a great opportunity for us to interact with our guests and give them a first-hand look at different science topics. We're excited to add a new ocean current demo to the lineup this year!”
