Founded by musician and winemaker Maynard James Keenan, the frontman for Tool, Puscifer, and A Perfect Circle, Caduceus Cellars is a boutique winery in Arizona’s Verde Valley. The winery releases a range of bottlings that are best suited to the region’s warm, dry climate and showcase its unique terroir, although the Nagual del Judith bottling is always a special selection. It’s sourced from the winery’s Judith Block, located on a southeast-facing slope at 4,900 feet in elevation, with less than a half-acre each of Nebbiolo, Aglianico, and Tempranillo, and a dash of Malvasia in between.
In particular, the Judith Tempranillo shines in a way reminiscent of classic Rioja, with dark berry and red currant tones that are accented by eucalyptus and desert sage, while structured yet fine-grained tannins and a hint of cigar box on the close, much like Maynard’s music, leaves you begging for more.

Founded in 2006 by David Perkins and his wife, Jane, High West Distillery was Utah’s first legal distillery since 1870. But to center yourself locally, the High Country American Single Malt bottling utilizes three malt types and is distilled “on-the-grain,” meaning the grain is left in during fermentation and distillation instead of being filtered out.
