5 Amazon Tools for Spring Cleaning and Kitchen Organization
I used to dread spring cleaning. When I was a kid, my father would bring out all the cleaning products and have us get to work scrubbing the kitchen and bathroom, going through our messy closets and a pantry full of chaos to see what was even in there. As an adult, however, I’ve realized that staying ready in the off-season can help me avoid weeks of pain when it comes to spring cleaning. In my current apartment, my wife and I have gotten kitchen organization down to a science, with proper places for everything we have. It saved hours and hours of time when we recently set out for a bit of early spring cleaning.
Thanks to a new lid organizer, I completely tidied my food storage cabinet earlier this year, and as a result, there’s virtually no cleaning needed in that part of the kitchen. Elsewhere, a baker’s rack and attractive utensil crock from Le Creuset help me keep everything from cookbooks and coffee gear to spatulas and citrus juicers neat. I never thought I’d be the one writing an article about how to stay on your toes for spring cleaning, but here we are. Read on for my favorite ways to stay prepared for spring cleaning.
Best Amazon Early Spring Cleaning Items
Le Creuset Stoneware Utensil Crock
Amazon
I’ve had this crock for years, but every time I go through my utensils and reorganize it, it feels totally new. I’ve recently been on a mission to get rid of black plastic and beef up my wooden utensil game. Since I live in an apartment and don’t have much drawer space, this crock is actually one of my most important kitchen organizational tools. It helps me stay honest about which tools I truly need and forces me to keep them all in one place. Plus, it’s a stunning Le Creuset piece, which is always nice.
YouCopia StoraLid Food Storage Lid Organizer
Amazon
I try not to be hyperbolic about these things. This is the best organizational tool that’s entered my kitchen in at least a year. The cabinet where I keep storage bags, food storage containers, and lids was in absolute disarray. Some random things were in a bin, many were loose, and there was so much junk in there that I never knew where to find anything. This expandable organizer has tall dividers you can position however you want to, creating exactly the right amount of space for each thing you’re storing. This organizational tool is magical, and I cannot recommend it enough.
Amazon Basics 3-Shelf Steel Shelving Organizer
Amazon
My kitchen storage is based around one humongous baker’s rack and one smaller, 3-shelf one. This smaller one does so much to help me stay organized: It has cookbooks, coffee beans, an espresso machine, an ice maker, and more. It’s an evolving station of kitchen organization. Find one that fits your space and pick it up. You won’t regret it.
Dorai Home Dish Pad
Amazon
Having a nice dish rack is cool, but they’re not always the right move. For one, they take up a lot of space; furthermore, I don’t usually love how they look. This foldable dish rack comes out of the cabinet when I’m washing dishes and goes right back in when they’re done drying. As I’ve been doing some early spring cleaning, I’m grateful for how easy this pad makes drying large amounts of kitchen items at once. Its 20– x 15-inch area lets you dry a ton of things, whereas dish racks I’ve used have pretty limited space (and aren’t usually sturdy enough for bigger pieces, like Dutch ovens and cast iron griddles).
Vtopmart Clear Plastic Storage Bins, 6-Pack
Amazon
My wife has been on a mission to stop me from leaving coffee tools and beans, smoothie supplies, and other pantry items all over our kitchen. Her main weapon has been clear plastic storage bins — and I’m all for it. Now, when I’m making my daily smoothie, I just grab my bin with all my powders and supplements, then place it right back in the pantry when I’m done. Whether you’re organizing items like the ones I am or just pantry products like cans, grains, spices, or flour, these bins are excellent.
