You’re sure to feel an adrenaline rush viewing the high-speed race, but the Speedway offers even more in motorsports such as the Coke Zero Sugar 400 and the Rolex 24.
The Daytona International Speedway is also home to some amazing events such as the Rockville Music Festival – one of my favorites. Each year, the event hosts the most popular rock and metal bands from around the world. The lineup is always different and exciting; if you can, plan your visit around this.
There are so many places to visit in Daytona Beach that I know it’s often hard to choose what to do but the Speedway is a ‘must-see’ attraction. If you’re looking to attend a memorable event, then I suggest the Polynesian Fire Show. It’s great for young and old alike – I brought my two children to the show when we visited Daytona and we all loved it equally. It features music, a luau-style buffet, an authentic fire knife performance (to the delight of my son), and hula dancing.
We attended the show on a rainy evening because it’s held indoors so you don’t have to worry about being rained out, too hot, or too cold. One thing I noticed about Daytona Beach is that it’s a very spread-out city; renting an electric bike lets you explore the entire region with ease. Zoom around Daytona Beach and explore New Smyrna Beach or other areas of Volusia County for a full day.
Motorized vehicles are allowed on Daytona Beach so when you rent a bike you can actually ride it on the beach. My kids had a blast riding the electric bikes up and down the stretch. They stopped to grab an ice cream at one of the many snack trucks that ply the beachline, before zooming off again.

After exploring the lighthouse, be sure to stop by the lighthouse keepers’ cottages which have been converted into museums complete with area artifacts. There’s a display of Fresnel lenses and even the Ponce lighthouse’s own lens.
