Walk into a Lululemon store — there are more than 700 locations worldwide — and you’ll be entering activewear heaven as you're met with racks and racks of high-performing and stylish workout gear and loungewear. For some, flipping through the hangers and waiting for something to grab your attention is a day well spent. But for others, it could be quite tedious. That's why I love the Lululemon “We Made Too Much” section, a curated online collection of top-rated clothing and accessories to facilitate your shopping experience. 

This Black Friday, I’m happy to report you’ll discover nearly 500 newly added products for men and women online in the brand’s growing “We Made Too Much” section. How do I know? Before embarking on my travel writing career, I was a Lululemon store educator. While I’m no longer on the athleisure pioneer’s payroll, I still follow the company closely and have great contacts on the inside. These wide-leg cropped pants may be part of Lululemon’s casual collection, but that doesn’t mean they’re not nice enough to dress up for work or a white tablecloth dinner. They're made with the brand’s “buttery-soft” Nulu fabric so they don’t feel like dress pants, but the drapey silhouette and elegant waistband details give them extra style points.

They also get serious practicality points for featuring hand pockets with a hidden sleeve for credit cards or hotel keys and for being machine-washable (and dryer-friendly). “They're perfect for traveling,” summed up one shopper, who wore them on a three-week trip to Southeast Asia

Lululemon may be most famous for its leggings, but the brand also knows a thing or two about footwear. While it doesn’t have a huge selection of shoes, it doesn’t need one. The Cityverse is a versatile sneaker style that pairs well with everything from denim to dresses. It comes with two lace options so you can switch up your look depending on the rest of your outfit, and despite being so stylish, they’re also supportive enough that you can log 20,000 steps a day without a single complaint.

Lululemon Women’s Softstreme Funnel-neck Long Pullover

If you like the look of turtlenecks but want a looser-fit option, consider this funnel-neck pullover that Lululemon describes as “peach-fuzz soft.” I like that the back is long enough to cover your bum —making it easy to wear with leggings — yet it also has high side slits so you can tuck in the front if you want to show off a high waist.

Lululemon Everywhere Belt Bag 1L Fleece

The employee who proposed making the uber-popular Everywhere Belt Bag in a textured, feel-good fleece — it’s made of recycled polyester and nylon — definitely deserves a raise. It’s the perfect winter accessory for the traveler who wants to sightsee, hands-free. And just because it’s called a belt bag doesn’t mean you have to wear it around your waist. “I sometimes put it across my body inside my coat,” wrote a shopper, who bought this bag for a trip to Europe. 

Lululemon Women's Crew-length Ragg Socks

We owe the Ancient Egyptians so much gratitude for inventing toothpaste, paper, eye makeup, and last, and perhaps most important of all (at least according to podiatrists): socks. Lululemon elevated this under-rated accessory by adding soft, ribbed cuffs that keep them in place. Instead of thick wool, which the Ancient Egyptians used, these socks feature a soft, breathable blend of cotton, nylon, and elastane. They even have an impressive, near-perfect 4.9-star average rating.  

Lululemon Women's Textured Fleece-lined Knit Mittens

In two weeks, I’m going on a Hurtigruten Northern Lights cruise in Norway where I can’t wait to break in these knit mittens. They’re made with breathable organic cotton, so they’re machine-washable. But they also have a touch of cashmere for a luxurious and soft feel. Note: several shoppers say they run slightly large, which is ideal if you want to wear them with hand warmers. But according to this shopper, you probably won’t need hand warmers: “They keep my hands warmer than the last like four pairs of mittens I’ve owned.”

Lululemon's Align high-rise Leggings have more than 10,100 five-star ratings online, and when I worked in the store, we had a hard time keeping them in stock. And even if I wasn't a former employee, I'd still say that no pants compare to them; they're made with the lightweight, life-changing Nulu fabric and feature a hidden pocket in the waistband. “You’ll want to wear these every day even when you are not exercising,” wrote one traveler. “I went on a vacation that involved a lot of walking and hiking and wore these — even in the heat, they felt light and comfortable.”

Because of the ribbed texture, these pants are one of my favorite pieces. Thanks to the slight flare at the hem, they’re slightly more flattering — at least if you like an hourglass silhouette — than their straight-leg counterpants. The back drop-in pocket is perfect for keys, IDs, and other small essentials that you'll want to keep close.

Lululemon Women’s Tear-away Mid-rise Track Pants

I was born in 1989 and fondly remember when tearaways were all the rage in the late ‘90s. This fun pair of track pants is Lululemon’s answer to the trend, and in typical Lulu fashion, they’re packed with functional features. For example, the zippered hand pockets have hidden sleeves for your more valuable essentials. And unlike the low-quality polyester pants I used to sport back in the day, these are made of Lululemon’s lightweight, four-way stretch Swift fabric that wicks away sweat.

Cargo pants are also making a comeback, and I can’t recommend Lululemon’s contribution to the category enough. While these pants are made for hiking, I love them for travel because they stuff down into a hidden zippered stash pocket. In addition to being ultra-compact, they also feature a drawcord waistband, so I don’t need to worry about bringing a belt (the less I have to pack, the better). Did I mention they repel moisture, too?

Lululemon Women's Stretch Knit Blazer

When I dress for long-haul flights (especially when I find myself being upgraded to business class), my goal is to look effortlessly chic while also feeling comfortable enough to sleep. One of my pro tips is to invest in pieces like this four-way stretch knit blazer. While it’s elegant enough to help you pass a job interview with flying colors, it’s also made for everyday wear (think: machine-washable, dryer-friendly, deep hand pockets, and even a back vent for added mobility).

My friend Kayla, who regularly runs sub-three marathons, first introduced me to the Push Your Pace Jacket. That said, with its water-repellent tech fleece fabric, it’s the ideal multipurpose layer for anyone who wants a lightweight jacket that’s both cozy and cute.

“This is the running-traveling-hiking jacket I have been waiting for,” a shopper exclaimed, while another customer described it as “warm yet easy to fit in my carry-on” in their review. This jacket also gets extra credit for featuring thumbholes, reflective details, and pockets, including a hidden phone sleeve. 

Lululemon Women’s Ebb to Street Tank Top

With more than 1,600 five-star ratings, the Ebb to Street Tank is just one Lululemon product that warrants having a fan club. Personally, I could be president. I love it for travel because it features a built-in shelf bra (with removable cups). This means I'll have one less bra to pack and/or wash. Thanks to the minimal seams, the tank ensures I never experience chafing, and because it’s made of a nylon-elastane blend, it’s equal parts soft and stretchy.

Lululemon Men’s Soft Knit Overshirt

The traditional flannel shirt didn’t stand a chance when Lululemon designers got their hands on it. Featuring four-way stretch, sweat-wicking properties (thanks to a “natural additive derived from plant seeds,” according to the brand), and a wrinkle-resistant fabric that prohibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria, this overshirt is definitely an overachiever. One shopper, who bought it for traveling around Europe, called it the “perfect layer.” 

Lululemon Men’s Reversible Insulated Bomber Jacket

As a budget-minded traveler with limited space in my suitcase, I love getting two looks for the price of one. This reversible bomber features a water-repellent quilted fabric with snap-closure hand pockets on one side. Turning it inside out reveals a windproof, water-resistant cotton-blend fabric with zippered hand pockets. 

“This jacket is everything you want in a casual bomber jacket,” wrote one shopper, who also noted that it “looks good with jeans and a polo, blocks the wind, and keeps water off the skin.” Plus, it boasts the brand's signature zoned PrimaLoft insulation, which is designed to regulate body temperature.

Outer layers are important, but what you wear underneath them is just as critical when it comes to staying comfortable. That’s why I bought my boyfriend these classic tees made of a quick-drying and super-soft cotton blend. While they’re not cheap, they’re designed to be abrasion-resistant, so they last a lot longer than shirts you can score for half the price. Plus, they’re treated with Lululemon’s No-stink Zinc technology, so he can wear it multiple times on a trip before having to do laundry in the hotel sink.

Collared shirts don’t have to be stuffy and restrictive. This essential polo from Lululemon is made with extra elastane so it has just the right amount of stretch. That said, the designers thought ahead and added shape retention properties, so it holds up well after repeated wear and he can go from the golf course to dinner without needing to change.

Lululemon Men’s ABC Classic-fit 5-pocket Pants 30-inch Length Warpstreme 

My boyfriend wore these best-sellers on our first date, and they’re one of the reasons he got a second date. Not only did I immediately know he had great style, but I knew he also had good judgment. Our first date involved touring fishing access sites, visiting multiple shops and restaurants, driving five hours in a car, and walking around Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument.
